  • 19 PAX showed up for our Christmas Eve convergence at Bear Country including 4 FNGs, two 2.0s, and a PAX (Darby) from Raleigh

WARM-A-RAMA – All warm-up exercises in cadence with a 12 count: Side straddle hops, Imperial Walkers, Good Morning, Michael Phelps, Squats.

THE THANG – Mosey to the track at Western Branch High School for the “12 Days of F3”. Three laps around the track stopping every quarter of the track. At each stop a we did Dealer’s Choice with a different PAX selecting an exercise with the stipulation it had to have 12 reps. After the exercise the PAX did burpees beginning with one burpee at stop one,  two burpees at stop two, etc. so at the twelfth and final stop the PAX did 12 burpees. Screendoor has the final dealer’s choice and selected 12 burpees as his exercise. Someone asked if he did that in honor of Dreamliner who was downstream. We then moseyed back to the shovel flag for a round of dealer’s choice with each PAX selecting an exercise with 12 or 24 reps. 17 exercises were performed.

Count-a-rama and Name-a-Rama. We welcomed Darby for the Raleigh area who has visited us before. Three FNGs:

Clipboard (Steve Sheppard) – Steve is a good friend of Funny car. He got his F3 nickname as he is the cross country/track & field coach at Kings Fork HS as well as coaching young runners in the New Energy program of Tidewater Striders. Steve served in the Navy and is a human resource manager with a defense contractor

Voltage (Levi Woods) – Levi is Clipboard’s son-in-law. He got his F3 nickname from his vocation, electrician.

Smiley – Armstrong’s 13-year old nephew. He plays football as an offensive and defensive lineman. Armstrong said he does very well in school and always has a smile on his face thus the nickname Smiley.

Slugger – Catapult’s eight year old son who loves playing baseball thus the nickname Slugger.

Funny care shared the following two verses followed by a prayer.

    Luke 2:8-20

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

1 John 4:9 – God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

    Merry Christmas
