8 PAX participated in Deflator’s VQ that featured a new twist on the opening run. For those unfamiliar with the layout at DuckDuckGoose, a paved trail surrounds a small lake where we run for about 20 minutes. On one end, a small bridge bypasses the path, which we affectionately call Bear Crawl Bridge since we, well, bear crawl across it. Today we ran in pairs, with one PAX bear crawling across the bridge while another PAX sprinted with all his might along the remainder of the path to beat the bear across the bridge. Unfortunately, most were unsuccessful although there was one confirmed survivor who beat the bear. Even the fleet footed Dreamliner was seen huffing and puffing at the end of the run.
The PAX continued to the workout, where we did a ironically titled Lazy Dora. We teamed up in pairs and did a 100 Merkin/plank, 200 LBC/leg lift, and 300 squat/squat hold alternating set. No muscle was left dormant.
The workout finished with forming a circle and doing High Knees while each PAX called out the next’ name and when he did, all dropped for a Merkin. I’d like to name that the Circle Merk.
Deflator has the fever to Q many more. Standby. And we will find more ways to win the bear chase!
