YHC was proud to see 9 Pax post on a cold Saturday morning, especially since Mentos, Dreamliner (and his clown car from the other side of the water) were absent. Mentos and Dreamliner were excused since they were attending the GoRuck Tough in Richmond , but I guess I need to be Canseco here and tell the other clowns in that car that Dreamliner’s absence is no excuse to Fartsack the morning away. After all, we all need as many postings as possible between now and the arrival of warm weather so that we can Chippendale on the Boardwalk this Summer! On with the show (or at least as best my old brain can remember: case in point, I needed Priorities help in remembering the names of the 8 other Pax that posted… thankfully I can still remember my own, but that point may not be far off.
WARMUP
SIDE STRADDLE HOP 25 IC
MERKINS 25 OMC
WINDMILLS 20 IC
LBCS 20 IC
IMPERIAL WALKERS 20 IC
THE THANG
Decided to start the day off with a nice leisurely (counter clockwise) mosey around the lake just to see if the group couldn’t find a pearl or two along the way:
Mosey to south side of playground
Pearl 1. 11’S DIPS-LEG RAISES
Mosey ‘til we were sufficiently stretched out to give the leaders a nice breather (holding plank)
Pearl 2. SLOW COUNT BURPEES 20 IC
Indian Run to the halfway point around the lake
Pearl 3. NARROW ARM MERKINS 25 OMC
Mosey to the first shelter where YHC wanted to try something new- picnic table back extensions: lie face down on a picnic table, hang front of your torso off the edge and while your partner holds your legs down, perform back extensions (reverse sit ups). These were marginally successful but did leave YHC with some unexpected table edge bruises.
Pearl 4. 11’S BACK EXT- MERKINS OR AIR SQUATS
Mosey to the base of the steps to Stinkhill where the leaders got another nice breather holding plank while waiting for the others to catch up. (YHC graciously invited the Pax to perform a few Merkins during that time in an effort to put a dent into his rather substantial lead in the Merkin Challenge, but sadly there were few takers). Once all present, the Pax did a nice Rocky run to the top only to find a few self-made pearls waiting.
JACK & JILL DEALERS CHOICE @ TOP OF HILL: Dealer chooses an exercise for the other Pax to perform as he runs down and back up the hill with a partner of his choosing. (YHC had this in mind especially for Dreamliner… hoping everyone would choose him as their Jill in an effort to slow him down, but alas I’d forgotten his pending absence… next time Dreamliner) 🙂
Pearl 5. HOLD PLANK (Jack was waay too nice)
Pearl 6. FLUTTER KICKS
Pearl 7. MERKINS (YHC was Jack and the Pax should’ve expected that one)
Mosey on a direct route back to the flags as time was short
MARY
RING OF FIRE:
LEG LIFT WAVE (Wave was a little shaky at first, but they seemed to get better after a few rounds)
MERKIN WAVE
Circle of Trust
The PAX stayed on our six for the COT. Counterama and namerama were performed (not that it did YHC much good when it came time for this backblast) and YHC shared the following passage that relates how we should all embrace our dolphin:
ROMANS 1: 6-8 WE HAVE DIFFERENT GIFTS, ACCORDING TO THE GRACE GIVEN TO EACH OF US. IF YOUR GIFT IS PROPHESY, THEN PROPHESIZE IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR FAITH; IF IT IS SERVING, THEN SERVE; IF IT IS TEACHING, THEN TEACH; IF IT IS TO ENCOURAGE, THEN GIVE ENCOURAGEMENT; IF IT IS GIVING, THEN GIVE GENEROUSLY; IF IT IS TO LEAD, DO IT DILIGENTLY; IF IT IS TO SHOW MERCY, DO IT CHEERFULLY.
Ball of Man
Group closed with prayers of thanks for the group, the day, and F3 as a whole, and the Lord’s Prayer (in unison).
Moleskin
2nd F at Panera to discuss the morning’s events and speculate on the GoRuck Tough niceties being experienced by our brothers.
YHC (Your humble correspondent),
