The Thang:
Four PAX gathered for an airing of grievances at Blackwater. Christmas requires a lot of us (especially if you have young children). All the shopping, all the activities, all the stuff can make for some frustrating days but we are required to put a happy face on and pretend everything is awesome. NOT TODAY! Today we let the inner Grinch out.
PAX grabbed a coupon and gathered under the bus ramp. Each PAX took a turn thinking of their most hated, despised exercise and then made everyone else perform OYO reps while they went for a ~200 yard mosey. All exercises were in play. A summary of some exercises that showed up:
- Bonnie Blairs
- Manmakers
- Burpee Block Jump Overs
- Bear Crawls
- Crawl Bears
- Broad Jumps
- Coupon Swings
- Coupon Front Raises
- Lunge Walks
- Pullups
- Sprints
- Various abs exercises (toe touches showed up twice, apparently nobody likes those)
- Many forms or Merkins
- Other stuff we didn’t enjoy
PAX returned coupons and traversed to the pullup bars to end with a few of YHC’s favorite things: Murph Exercises. PAX performed 5 pullups, 10 Merkins, and 15 Squats OYO for the last 8 minutes.
Mary: No Time
COT:
Merry Christmas to PAX everyone. A brief reading from Luke 2:
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Moleskin
The Beatdown started with a true Festivus miracle when we discovered a Festivus pole in the parking lot. Made of aluminum – it has a high strength to weight ratio and requires no decorating. A perfect segue to our airing of grievances.
Gator filled us in on some highlights of his trip to Israel. A perfect segue to the reading of Luke 2.
