Cool, dry, and far from home.
- Copperhead squats
- Imperial Walkers
- Bat Wings
Invited/bribed by Moneyball to Q DDG for the first time, YHC was inspired to bring some popular exercises from Bear Country and Blackwater to BFE (aka Carrollton). 20 (21?) PAX gathered to bear crawl and move coupons.
Perform prescribed reps of each exercise listed in sequence on your own (100 total reps). When reps are finished, bear crawl to the next set of parking spaces, perform 5 merkins, and jog back to the coupons. Repeat four times for a total of 100 reps of each exercise.
- 25 Thrusters
- 25 Kettle Bell Swings
- 25 Coupon Merkins
- 25 Coupon Squats
New verse, same as the first (with a variation in rep counts). Lunge walk to the next set of parking spaces, perform 5 squats, and jog back to the coupons. Repeat four times (PAX only finished ~2 rounds before time expired).
- 30 OH Press
- 30 Bonnie Blairs (count each leg)
- 30 Curls
- 10 Manmakers
YHC was chatting with Dreamliner last week about my struggle to press through “the wall” during beat downs. After some weekend pondering, this was really just an excuse to be lazy. From David Goggins “Everybody comes to a point in their life when they want to quit. But it’s what you do at that moment that determines who you are”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control”
Quitting a little early during a workout is a small thing, but quitting small things can lead to quitting bigger things and becoming more and more afraid to challenge yourself. We were not given a spirit of fear so we should not be living life afraid. Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself – in fitness, home, work, community, wherever – and don’t quit just because its getting hard.
Almost none. Everyone was counting reps and sucking wind (or at least YHC was).
