Number of Pax: 10
Number of FNGS: 1
FNG Names: Captain Nemo
PLOCI: Called for long sleeves due to wind. Legs were bare.
SSH x32 – pax thought we were going to 50. Just keeping them on their toes and scaring the new guy.
Imperial Walkers x15
Abe Vigodas x15
Copperhead Squats x15
1 long lap around the AO
Line drills. Each pax chooses a card from the F3 workout deck. Then run to the first set of cones and do the exercise x5 and run back. Then repeat at each subsequent cone. When finished, join the 6 and all finish together.
Grab your next card and repeat. Discard your card in one of the buckets. If you miss, 5 Merkin penalty. YHC hit the bucket like he played at VT or UNC… hardly at all…
With 10 pax, we finished the deck with time to spare. 7’s at the rotunda benches and then finish the lap around the AO.
It is YHCs personal thinking that a major tenet of F3 is that we do hard things for the sole reason that it’s hard. Could Honest Abe have cut his run short when he pulled 4x the lines near the end when he was tired? Yes. But he didn’t. Cause it was hard. Could he have quit halfway? Yes. But he didn’t. Cause it was hard. Could the rest of the pax waited for him at the finish and let him finish alone? Yes. But they didn’t. Cause it was hard. Did the pax let a little (or a LOT tbh) temporary pain get in the way of what we were really there to do? No.
Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
YHC gets a lot of flack for his choice of workout attire. This is right in line with doing hard things. None of us are out at F3 to be comfortable. So if I can prepare myself by choosing to be cold now, so that next time I don’t have a choice, I’m better able to deal with it, then I’m gonna choose to be cold. YHC believes we are at F3 to train for something ahead in life. It’s going to be hard. It might be cold. We won’t know what it is or when it is coming. But when it happens, an F3 pax will be ready.
5 for coffeeteria. Scrubs was on call at the hospital so he made his 1st post to the playground. Mumblechatter was all about our good old days in the Navy and Marine corps and celebrating Wisconsin’s total domination of the team with feet of a black sticky substance.
2nd F yard games at Dreamliner’s and Finkle’s houses at noon.
New AO, Tank Bank starting Wednesday in Newport News. 0530.
