Talk about how little YHC had prepared for this Q and discussed some options.
The Thang
1 Mile Lap through the campus and back to the flags to pick up the pre-shuffled card deck.
Mosey over to the alcove by the Ferguson center.
Virginia Run’Em Poker – Each PAX moseys OYO around the Ferguson loop and back to the alcove, where they will pick up a card. Rinse/repeat for 15 mins. However many cards each PAX managed to get, they get to use to make their best possible poker hand. Winner was Wilson with a straight A-4. He was given three options for the remainder of the beatdown and he selected a scout run down Warwick Blvd.
Scout Run: The PAX moseyed as a group to Warwick Blvd and, after the Avenue of the Arts intersection, they took turns at each .1 mile marker running ahead however far they desired.
Mosey back to the flags, picking up the deck on the way back.
Theresa
Butterfly stretches and cross-legged standing stretches.
COT
Philippians 2:19-30 – In this section, Paul gives what seems like a rather mundane description of travel plans and who a couple of people (Timothy and Epaphroditus) are, and what they are like.
- YHC preached on this passage and had a hard time interpreting it for preaching at first, because it does seem so mundane.
- But, if you look closely you can see in the details that Paul highly values those who are faithful to God’s calling and who care for other Christians, and who are selfless.
- YHC also encouraged the PAX that they should try to “eulogize” people while they are still around–something that Paul does here–that is, when you see them do something praiseworthy, praise them for it. It is a good encouragement to all involved.
Moleskin
- Initial run mumble chatter was mostly about mountain cabins:
- Cost to own/rent, and return on investment.
- $1,500/month HOA fees. Seriously.
- Home repair professionals knowing about the lock-box and storing their equipment inside.
- Also the greek life houses at CNU and their relatively quality compared to the same houses at the PAX’s respective alma maters.
- No mumble chatter during VA Run’Em Poker due to the sheer focus and attempts to will good luck into reality. Not at all because the PAX were running at different paces.
