The Thang
Jukebox: YHC brought a speaker and his playlist of cover songs, set to shuffle. As each song began, the first PAX to correctly guess its title was awarded the choice of AMRAP exercise all PAX would complete for approximately one minute. Then skip to a new song. After three songs, all PAX moseyed two light poles down and back. Songs that came up included (but were not limited to):
- “Baby” by Relient K
- “My Boyfriend’s Back” by The Raveonettes
- “Tears on My Pillow” by Clem Snide
- “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky” by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
- “On the Road Again” by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
- “Jolene” by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
- “Can’t Buy Me Love” by Michael Buble
- “Hurt” by Johnny Cash (KILLER music video for a KILLER cover, by the way)
- “Single Ladies” by Pomplamoose
- “Mrs. Robinson” by Pomplamoose
- “You’re Still the One” by Roper
- “Eleanor Rigby” by Derek Webb
- “Sound of Silence” by Derek Webb

- “Take On Me” by MxPx
- “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Stellar Kart
- “Be Our Guest” by Stellar Kart

COT
Colossians 3:16—Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- YHC talked about the power of song to unite, remind, memorize, encourage, uplift, etc. He encouraged the PAX to consider what they are listening to and use the power of the song for God’s glory and the edification of those around them, and themselves.
Moleskin
- YHC had an epiphany for this Q. Might have been dumb but YHC had fun.
- Fully 80% of the correct guesses were from Moneyball and Walker.
- Also some notable showings from Waze and Double Fault.
- “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “You’re Still the One,” and “Desolation Row” were the only ones to really stump the PAX.
- It was noted that simply paying attention to the first line of the song will get you the title pretty often. “67% of the time it works every time.”
- This resulted in a brief but intense period of Anchorman quotes by the PAX.
- YHC got almost no critique for the format of the beatdown. He got plenty of critique for the songs choices.
- It should be noted, that some of the best covers on YHC’s playlist did not come in the shuffle.
