The BackBlast:

YHC had some ideas for the beatdown, but when YHC posted on Tuesday, he thought why not take what was done in CLT on the road to VA.  So he grabbed Blue Tornado’s weinke sheets and orange cones and threw them in the back seat for a road trip to the TankBank.  I admit this is like mailing it in, but actually, most of the workout was on the fly.  It was good to see familiar faces at the Bank.  YHC had to ask one pax what their nickname was, but then realized YHC had partnered up with DoubleFault at a workout sometime in the past.  Everyone else, YHC had worked out with before.  I was honored that FunnyCar made his virgin visit to TankBank for YHC’s Q.  It was good to see the regulars – Marvel, Joker, and Appomattox – as well. Wilson was out front the whole time, with Wicked right on his heels.  Appomattox blew by YHC a couple of times – sneaky fast.  It’s good to see that picking up the 6 still exists, because it may be a lost cause back in Metro.  YHC also did his best on the disclaimer, while also disclaiming that it’s still done in Metro.  This is also YHC attempt at doing a backblast, also mostly a thing of the past in Metro, so I’m definitely out of the practice.

Kudos to whoever puts every pax nickname in the website to be selected from a list.  That’s pretty cool.  Something that Metro should adopt – oh wait – that WOULD  be cool if they did backblasts where they had to list the pax who posted.

The Thang (roughly)

4 bases or 4 corners were set out ahead of time with the following exercises listed: (Marvel mentioned afterward that he could not remember the field of play ever being used before. Heads up for Friday’s workout at Gas Station – you may learn some other things about the AO.)

1 – 10 SSH, 10 Plankjacks, 10 LBC, 10 NolanRyan (10L/10R)

2 – 10 Merkins, 10 JumpSquats, 10 Heels2Heaven, 10 FreddieMercury

3 – 10 Imperial Walkers, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Dolly, 10 Shoulder Tap Merkins

4 – 10 Sharon Towers, 10 Lunges (10L/10R), 10 Rosalitta, 10 Copperhead Squats

We started at #4 (homeplate), did all the exercises together, then AYG to #1.
Did all the exercises together at #1, then AYG to #2.  Did the same for #3, and AYG back to #4.

We did the same thing again, but OYO, around all corners.

Next round, we hit doubles, and only did OYO the first two exercises at #2 & #4; then again doing the second two exercises at #2 and #4.

Next round – we went a different way – backwards all the way to #3.  From #3 to #4 we crab walked, duck walked, bear crawled, and lung walked.

Moseyed back to the start for a little Mary.

YHC completely blanked on the 2 (yea 2) verses YHC was trying to memorize, so instead Wicked off the cuff recited Psalm 23.  Point is: we need to be armed for life, and memorizing Bible verses is a good way to be prepared for what life brings.

My 2 verses I planned to share were going to be Psalm 40:1-2 – now without even looking and without 7 other men looking at YHC, here they are: I waited patiently for the Lord.  He turned to me and he heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slime pit, out of the mud and mire.  He set my feet on a rock and gave me firm place to stand.

YHC’s take away from these verses – practice patience, God listens, has us in his hands, and supports us.  Good to know.

Happy Easter and hopefully I’ll see you Friday at the Gas Station for something different than what you got at TankBank.

YHC is extremely blessed to have been headlocked into F3 at the place it started in CLT, but as much so to see it alive and thriving in YHC’s hometown.
