This was a Hero Ruck to Honor Travis Turbyfill, one of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots to give his life fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire June 30 2013. He was a former Marine, husband, devoted father.
Ruck with your group of fellow brothers with your choice of weight, 30lb being optimal for somewhat simulate what a wildland Hotshot carries on his person. 1 person starts with a 40lb sandbag to simulate weight of extra tools and fuel carried on the line, and every .12 miles the group drops to the deck to complete 10 merkins. Once omerkins are complete the sandbag is passed to the next person. If you by pass stairs merkins are completed at the top and bottom of the flight. This goes till time runs out.
180 merkins complete
1.98 miles rucked
