Archives: Birthday Q and Goodbye to the Civic

  • When: 20180117
  • QIC: Dreamliner
  • The PAX: Deflator, SpaceMonkey, SubMac, Dreamliner
  • YHC’s 27th birthday did not get off to the start YHC expected. Driving home yesterday, YHC found the tunnel at a complete standstill. The Civic could not stop in time and crunched a work van. The Civic may have met its demise but all drivers are okay and really that is all that matters.

Today, started off much better. SpaceMonkey picked YHC up this morning. His chauffeur document read, “Dr. Dreamliner, Bear Country.” I may be paraphrasing slightly but you get the drift. He literally was holding this sign when I walked down the steps this morning.

    Now, on to the workout.

    The Thang
    Warmarama
27 side straddle hops – In cadence (IC) [YHC is 27 years old today]
1 burpee – On Your Own (OYO)
    17 Imperial Walkers – IC
    19 merkins – IC
91 little baby crunches (LBCs) – OYO
YHC’s birthday is 01/17/1991. Everyone was glad YHC was not born in December.

Each PAX grabs one 25 lb. dumbbell. Mosey to 50 yd. line of high school football field (about a half mile run from the flags).

Then, we said goodbye to the C.I.V.I.C.
    Carolina Dry Docks x27 OYO
    Imperial Walkers x27 IC
    V-ups x27 OYO
    Imperial Walkers x27 IC
    Curls x27 each arm OYO

The Civic met her demise in the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel (MMBT).
Tunnel of love from 50 yd. line until all PAX had crossed the goal line. This now stands as the current record for longest tunnel of love in F3 Hampton Roads. Can it be topped?

The other vehicle was a FedEx work van. FedEx makes deliveries; thus, we did the same.
Deliveries to all four corners and the center of the football field in a figure 8 pattern. Corner #1: 25 WWII situps. Corner #2: 20 merkins. Mid-field: 20 curls. Corner 3: 25 Freddy Mercury’s. Corner 4: 20 Wide arm merkins. Mid-field: 20 curls.
Repeat for 1.5 rounds. Mosey back to shovel flag. Finish off 2nd round.

Dumbbell overhead lunge walk for approximately 25 yards.

    2 minutes of Captain Thor.

    Recover. Recover.

There is no better way to live than with gratefulness and the cup half full. As I said goodbye to the trusty Civic, I am happy to be here and that only metal was bent. Metal can easily be fixed.

As SubMac so astutely pointed out, I was “THAT GUY” who blocked the tunnel. Sorry for anyone commuting home yesterday.
