Yep, F3 Hampton Roads did it again. We didn’t just break our Thursday AM beat down attendance record (9), we smashed it! 12 PAX (including 2 FNGs) were at Quack Quack Honk leaving a rash of lonely fartsacks throughout Hampton Roads. This was also the first workout that preceded our next bible study session (more on that later) so there were some F3 staples for the PAX to enjoy.
The Thang:
Warmarama: Side Straddle Hop (15x, IC), Imperial Walker Squats (10x, IC), Shoulder circles (10x, IC, forward and reverse), Merkins (10x, IC)
Next, the PAX did a lap around the pond (about 1/2 mile) with a return to the shovel flags. Once back, 10 burpees and a retrace of the run to pick up the six.
We all reunited at the shovel flags for a Ba-Dora. This is a Dora with a slight twist. Since our October fitness challenge is the Burpee-til-you-bust effort, YHC thought it best to get those stats up. So, normal Dora (100 merkins, 200 squats, 300 LBCs alternating between partners with the other partner running a certain distance) with the addition of 50 burpees at the beginning. Interestingly, although I was not present at the Tuesday workout (Duck Duck Goose) it turns out that Screen Door did a modified Dora as well with the same running target … something about great minds and similar thoughts.
20 Count and off to the picnic tables. YHC led a rousing round of 11s starting with 10 dips and 1 BBSu (Big Boy Sit up). Mumble chatter was strong and the PAX were encouraged to suggest how many of each rep should be completed in each round. YHC pretended to listen and kept on with the plan.
12 Count and return to the shovel flags. 10 minutes of Mary much to the enjoyment of all. We started with some box cutters (10x, IC, inside-out and the reverse), followed by Crunchy Frogs (10X, IC) and some alternating arm raises in plank. Then YHC asked the PAX about the famous frozen drink from 7-11 … slurpee … what rhymes with that … you guessed it, burpees! 10 of those followed by the eloquently written Jody (Thx Deflator) performed while doing scissor kicks.
Circle of Trust:
Countarama and Namarama
New bible study: This was the first week of a 10 week session where we will be meeting right after every #QuackQuackHonk beatdown to go through “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. For anyone that is interested, next Thursday we will be discussing Days 1-5 from the book. Please let me know if you would like more information about this.
Ball of Man with prayer for those recovering from natural disasters as well as some needs within the PAX.
