Warmup – 30 4-ct SSHops at YHC’s varying cadence (ha ha – gotcha right away); 10 4-ct Don Quixotes; and 10 4-ct (each leg) Finkle Swings, YHC’s new favorite warmup exercise. If you’ve never seen a bunch of sleepy-eyed PAXs try to stand on one leg and violently swing the other to-and-fro, just throw a bunch of Finkle Swings at ’em.
Run – 4 laps around the Mighty Eagle Harbor (EH) Lake, Bear Crawl across Bear Crawl Bridge; and transit the 25# Kettle Bell as we go. We caught a passing glimpse of Scout getting a morning run in – join us next time, buddy!
Bootcamp: F3 Mini Golf – EH has a 9-hole mini golf course, and YHC has been looking to use it for a while. First incarnation was to assign an exercise to each hole and put a cup with 5 slips of paper at each hole. The papers listed 5 different “strokes” for each exercise, above and below a “par” count (e.g., 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 Burpees). Pick a random paper, do the exercise, and log the “score”. PAX paired in twos because the last three holes were Lazy Dora-type team exercises (Squats, SSHops, Merkins). Team Deflator-Tow Rope edged out Team Dreamliner-SubMac by posting 2 under par to their par score. YHC almost got an unplanned beatdown by declaring we would do it again and finish the “Back 9” if we had more time. YHC has a few ideas to tweak the F3 Mini Golf plan – thanks to the PAX for being my “guinea pigs” this first time!
Count-a-Rama and Name-a-Rama were modifed in Circle Merk fashion.
COT included a simple quote: “Golf… is the infallible test. The man who can go into a patch of rough alone, with the knowledge that only God is watching him, and play his ball where it lies, is the man who will serve you faithfully and well.” (P. G. Wodehouse). That’s the definition of integrity, folks – doing what’s right when no one is around. Enough said.
