A great day across Hampton Roads, VA. 7 PAX with an FNG at #StankHill and 7 PAX at #DuckDuckGoose. Followed that up with an inquiry from the Suffolk News-Herald. They will be at #BearCountry at 0515 Dec. 27th. Mark it on your calendars.
Below is what took place during YHC’s inadvertent Virginia Beach Week (Q #2 or 3).
35 side straddle hops – In cadence (IC)
15 imperial walkers – IC
15 merkins – IC
Mosey to base of hill just on the other side of the first set of steps.
Triple Check: PAX #1 Carolina dry docks, PAX #2 plank, PAX #3 runs to top of hill and back. Rotate when runner returns. 3 rounds.
Mosey to bathhouse
11s Donkey Kicks/Pull ups with a 10 minute time cap.
Jingle Bell Run: Courtesy of Deflator. Similar to an Indian Run but back PAX sings Christmas carol on way to front of line. YHC added 5 penalty burpees for not singing, any repeats, and in the case of Cowboy trying to get away with singing an Easter song.
Short intermission at Kid’s Cove. 25 big boy situps (On Your Own). Leg lift clocks: Repeated cycle of 12 o’clock, 3, 6 (inches), and 9.
Mosey to shovel flags.
Circle of Trust:
Couterama (in plank position).
Namerama (in plank position).
Dread, Duty, Desire: For almost any good habit (working out, eating healthly, bible study, being a good husband, son, employee, etc.), YHC goes through this cycle. First, I dread it. Then, I do it just because I am supposed to (Duty). Then, I actually start to enjoy it (Desire). However, this is not always a linear process for YHC. Often times, I fall back to Duty, then to Dread, back to Duty, then to Desire, back to Duty. You get the picture.
You also see this throughout the Psalms in David; a man after God’s on heart. A few examples.
Psalm 119:36 (ESV) “Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!”
Psalm 119:20 (ESV) “My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times.”
Only one violation during Jingle Bell Run. Cowboy mixed up his holidays. YHC almost missed it but the PAX kept everyone honest.
This may have been the earliest naming to date. While he was running, the CDD and planking PAX started brainstorming. Hugo threw out Hutch, from Starsky and Hutch, because he works with McGruff. It immediate stuck. So, five minutes into the workout, that was taken care of.
Today was truly a rejuvenating morning. Between great numbers at both AOs. The upcoming news event, and the warm weather, it was quite simply a great day to be part F3 Hampton Roads.
