Archives: Modified Murph contributes to this month's Quad P

  • Despite the relatively dry conditions, a mere two pax braved the March nor’easter this morning at StankHill. YHC was gratified to see Cowboy pull up at the last minute to ensure there would be no solo Q and with the shovel flag happily showing off in the brisk winds, we gladly got under way.

    The Thang
    Modified Murph:
    1 mile Run to the pull up bars
    25 Pull-ups
    100 Merkins
    100 Squats
    2.3 mile Run back to the flag (YHC had planned on just a 1 mile finish, but since the pax blew thru the “pearls” so quickly, we had to lengthen the “string)

    The following verse was read and it seems to relate very well to this month’s Quad P.

    And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
    ~ Habakkuk 2:2-3

    YHC sees this passage as promoting the setting of public goals in order to create accountability to help ensure success and to encourage others along a similar path.

    To that end, with just over 10 weeks until Memorial Day, YHC fully intends (and encourages his F3 brothers as well) to add a 20 lb vest or ruck and gradually ramp up the Merkins, Pull ups, and Squats each week in an effort to complete the full Murph Challenge on that very special day.
