Archives: Sand through the glass sure falls in a hurry…

  • When:
  • QIC: Scully
  • The PAX: Triple Option, Pueblo, Slugger (FNG), Funny Car, Tow Rope, Scully
  • While slightly disappointed with the turnout, the lower attendance was somewhat expected due to several key members representing the Pax proudly at the Colonial 70. YHC was inspired to see the five HIM that did post on this beautiful Saturday morning completely dominate the workout that I had in store for them. Unfortunately, I clearly underestimated the time needed to perform the pleasantries and we had to cut short the Stinkhill events in order to post at Panera on time for Coffeeteria. I know, I know, we need to have our Priorities in order… oh wait… he had deserted us in favor of the Colonial 70!

    WARMUP
    SIDE STRADDLE HOP 20 IC
    ABE VIGODA 20 IC
    IMPERIAL WALKERS 20 IC
    HILLBILLY WALKERS 20 IC
    MERKINS 20 OMC
    LBCS 20 OMC

    THE THANG
Nice leisurely (clockwise) mosey around Stinkhill to where there is a nice level landing about halfway up… or so I thought. Turns out the landing is at best one third of the way which made things slightly more difficult. Starting at the base, we breezed to the first landing Bernie Sanders style with little effort. 20 Merkins and it was a torturously long bear crawl to the summit where 20 LBC’s awaited and then held plank for those at the six. Crawl bear back down to the first landing (also a bear), 20 Merkins, and short jaunt to the base for 20 LBC’s. Repeat the sequence two more times. (YHC made a highly justified audible from the intended five trips to the summit to three)

Retrace our steps counterclockwise around Stinkhill and mosey to Scully Park for some Elevens that took far too long due to some miscalculations on my part. Group was divided into three pairs with assignments as listed below. The location of each exercise in a pair was designed to be sufficiently separated to require a nice sprint back and forth.

    Burp-ups and Big Boy Sit-ups
    Shoulder Press and Squats
    Dips and Lunges

Plan was of course to rotate thru each pair, but YHC clearly did not think the pairings thru as the first pair of exercises clearly took much longer to perform than the others and they also happened to be separated the greatest distance. Of course, it could also be that Funny Car and I were the old men in the group and we’re just too D@$% old to keep up with you young bucks. Regardless, we were quickly falling behind while the sand in the hourglass was running out so I made a second audible and cut short the first pairing to end at 5 in an effort to get a full rotation in. All for naught as YHC just managed to complete a second pairing before the bell sounded and we made a beeline back to the flags for everyone’s favorite part of the day.

    Circle of Trust
The PAX stayed on our six for the COT. Counterama and namerama were performed (the low turnout was a plus when it came to remembering the Pax for this backblast) and YHC shared the following passage that relates directly to Priorities’ “Are You Available” message from the previous week:

    2 CORINTHIANS 9:6
THE POINT IS THIS: WHOEVER SOWS SPARINGLY WILL ALSO REAP SPARINGLY, AND WHOEVER SOWS BOUNTIFULLY WILL ALSO REAP BOUNTIFULLY.

    Ball of Man
Group closed with prayers of thanks for the group, the day, and F3 as a whole, and the Lord’s Prayer (in unison).

    Moleskin
2nd F at Panera to discuss the morning’s events and thank our lucky stars that we were not in the midst of that grueling Colonial 70
