The carnival was in town. The 12 PAX (1 FNG) that posted to #StinkHill had the opportunity to purchase tickets at the ticket booth and ride many carnival favorites including roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, a haunted house, a merry go round, and the love boat. Here is what happened.
The Thang;
Warmarama: 25 Side Straddle Hops (In Cadence), 15 merkins (IC), 15 Mountain Climbers (IC), 25 Big boy situps (on your own OYO), mosey to the bottom of the steps.
Roller Coaster: Incline merkin on every other step (72 steps) to the top. This is the “click, click, click” of a roller coaster as it makes it’s ascent. Big boy sit-ups until the six finishes. Run down the back side to the hill to other set of stairs. Hands up and screaming were allowed but not fully taken advantage of.
Ferris Wheel: Triple check with pole smokers, Carolina dry docks, and run to top of hill and back down. Rotate exercises between group of three for 10 minutes. EH opportunity with guy who was also running the hill at #StankHill on Tues. Successful or not we shall see.
Roller Coaster: Repeatdo on second set of steps (coincidentally also 72 steps).
Ticket Booth: At bathhouse, partnered up in twos. One PAX had to go to the ticket booth (pull-up bars) and collect 5 tickets (5 pull-ups) so that he could relieve his partner and ride “balls to the wall.” Flapjack x3.
Bumper Cars: Aka duck jousting won by Deep Dive (FNG) or Bachelor Pad. Not really sure an official ruling was made.
Haunted House: After moseying to picnic shelter, perform dealer’s choice (since a haunted house is always a surprise and you do not know what is coming next). This was great practice for VQ week (starts Tues.) for Sunshine, Tow Rope, and Pueblo. Frozone and potentially Bachelor Pad have the other two workouts.
Merry-Go-Round: Mosey half way back to the flags. Circle up. Ring of fire with 6 inches and flutter kicks.
Love boat: After sprinting back to the flags and circling back for six, setup for Tunnel of Love. After instructions from Mentos on the tricks of the trade and warnings from SubMac to keep your heels down (great advice), one by one someone crawls under the tunnel of planking PAX.
Circle of Trust (COT):
Counterama and name-o-rama
Ephesians 5:15 (NASB): Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
Excerpt from a podcast by Andy Stanley. The series titled “Ask It” challenges people to ask this question when choosing what to do on decisions where there is not a legal or illegal, right or wrong choice. The question is “What is the wise thing to do?” Andy phrases this question in three parts. 1) In light of past experiences, 2) present circumstances, 3) and future hopes and dreams, what is the wise thing for me to do? If we filter our decisions through this question, it may just save us from many regrets in our lives.
Ball of man (BOM).
Moleskin:
Major praise for SpaceMonkey’s diagnosis on Thursday. All the details are not finalized, but the main takeaway is there is no change in the scan over the last years. No tumor/has not grown.
3rdF Bible study has begun (Q’d by SpaceMonkey) that will take place immediately following the #BearCountry workouts on Wednesdays.
Strong showing from our FNG (Deep Dive). It was obvious that you were not making your first post coming off of the couch. See you out there again soon.
Mentos has a few GoRuck events coming up. One will take place on July 7-8 in Richmond. Let Mentos know if you are interested.
